    The chapters flip back and forth between the two sets of children from one family; one line is about a rebellious teenage daughter who feels alienated from her fathers new family, and how she is reconnected with her real mother.

    However, I didn't enjoy the wilderness side of the book. With the rowdy rambunctious boys and their adventure in Finland, the frantic search for their mother, and the angst of a teenaged girl meeting the mother who abandoned her, there is something for everyone in this exciting story.

    Wilderness, by Roddy Doyle is about a family going through hardships. At time the author would just all of a sudden be in Dublin talking about the dad and the daughter then the next we would be in Finland without knowing. The only thing I thought could have been improved was the ending, I expected an improved interaction between them.

    My daughter is 11, but reads above grade level and is able to handle more mature topics. However, I didn't Wilderness is a book for younger readers.
